Oleksii Avilov entered postgraduate studies at the Department of Electronic Engineering in 2016. In parallel, he began studying at University of Lorraine (France) as part of a double degree, where in 2021 he defended his thesis on "Deep learning methods for motor imagery detection from raw EEG : applications to brain-computer interfaces" after obtaining a PhD degree.
After that, he returned to Ukraine and worked as a machine learning specialist in leading IT companies specializing in the development and implementation of solutions based on artificial intelligence (computer vision, generative models and LLM). At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he co-founded the charity project Sirens Gallery.
