Internship of Associate Professor of the Department of Electronic Engineering Poreva Hanna Sergiyevna at the Bialystok University of Technology

Thursday, June 26, 2025 - 23:15

As part of the Erasmus+ mobility program, an internship was held by Hanna Serhiivna Poreva, an associate professor of the Department of Electronic Engineering, at the Bialystok University of Technology (Republic of Poland, Bialystok). She participated in the International Staff Week “14th International Staff Week at Bialystok University of Technology”, which was held from June 8 to 14.
The purpose of the internship was to improve the professional level and exchange experience in the project management process and discuss measures to develop cooperation between the Bialystok University of Technology and the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic University.

The program included various workshops, seminars, multicultural programs, and visits to laboratories of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering of the Bialystok University of Technology.
The internship resulted in the establishment and expansion of contacts between the Bialystok University of Technology and other institutions from different participating countries and the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, discussion of cooperation opportunities, discussion of opportunities for academic exchanges and joint scientific work between the Bialystok University of Technology and the Faculty of Electronics of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic University.

Young Academy of Sciences Symmer School KPI class 2025

Thursday, June 5, 2025 - 18:58

According to the program of the Summer Scientific and Specialized School of the Department of Engineering and Materials Science of the Kyiv Small Academy of Sciences of Student Youth 2025, we held classes with senior students of Kyiv schools. We continue to open the world of electronics and engineering to them, giving them the opportunity not only to theoretically master the material, but also to create and test electronic devices on their own. This time, the students made models of a random number generator.

The assembly process turned out to be not only interesting, but also informative. Despite the relative simplicity of the circuits, which required only two dozen soldering points, not all devices worked on the first try. This provided an excellent opportunity to practice attentiveness when searching for and correcting soldering defects under a magnifying camera, using a multimeter to diagnose the power supply of components - all this helped the students to better understand the principles of electronics, to gain experience working with the "magic wands" of an electronics engineer.

After all, the moment when the assembled circuit starts working brings not only satisfaction, but also a real sense of achievement. This is exactly the experience that ignites interest in technical disciplines and motivates further learning.

Associate Professor Anton Popov shares his impressions of participating in the mobility program

Friday, April 11, 2025 - 23:05

From March 29 to April 6, 2025, I had the opportunity to participate in the academic mobility program "Erasmus+ for teaching" at the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin, Poland.

The city of Szczecin impressed with its architecture and pleasant atmosphere. I especially remembered a walk along the picturesque embankment - a wonderful place for relaxation and inspiration. I also managed to briefly go to the Baltic Sea coast and spend a few hours in peace and quiet by the water.

As part of the visit, I gave a lecture to 3rd-year students, and also took part in practical classes on the course "Microprocessor Signal Recording Systems". In addition to teaching, I held a number of meetings with Polish colleagues - Professor Krzysztof Jaroszewski, Professor Joanna Hurecka and Assistant Professor Przemysław Maciewicz. They discussed educational programs, approaches to organizing practical training for students, as well as scientific research in the field of electroencephalogram analysis and detection of artifacts in biosignals.

Special attention was paid to the possibilities of academic exchanges between Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and ZUT, as well as the potential for preparing joint applications for Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe projects.

Summer course: Modeling and exploring of brain neurons and networks: how and why

Wednesday, May 1, 2024 - 20:18

This summer course is an introduction to computational and experimental neuroscience, specifically to modeling neurons and brain networks. We will start with fundamental neuroscience and, right from the beginning, in the first lecture, will arrive at the “brain paradox” – the very reason why modeling is an essential and crucial tool to study the brain. In the second lecture, we will look at the art of model selection from very detailed to phenomenological, abstract, and theoretical.
