The participants were shown the process of designing integrated circuits, the capabilities of a bedside patient monitor for registering biomedical signals, and much more.
The students were particularly interested in working with the Arduino hardware-software platform for developing electronic devices. The students learned about the principles of microcontroller programming and the practical possibilities of using Arduino in educational and engineering projects.
The guests of the event also got acquainted with the educational program "Electronic Micro- and Nanosystems and Technologies" of the specialty G5 "Electronics, Electronic Communications, Instrumentation and Radio Engineering", learned more about studying at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, the department's partners, and the career prospects of graduates. In addition, the participants were demonstrated modern software for designing microcircuits, examples of biomedical signal processing were given, and how innovative technologies are used in real engineering and medical tasks were shown.

Engineering Festival 2026 at Lyceum No. 214

Friday, June 5, 2026 - 15:51

We joined the Engineering Festival 2026, which was held at Lyceum No. 214 of the Obolonskyi district of Kyiv.
During the event, the department's teachers talked to students and demonstrated modern equipment and their own scientific and technical developments. The festival participants got acquainted with the process of designing integrated circuits, observed the operation of a wireless device for measuring blood oxygen saturation, and also had the opportunity to register their own biomedical signals using a patient's bedside monitor.
The guests of the event learned about the educational program "Electronic Micro- and Nanosystems and Technologies" of the G5 specialty "Electronics, Electronic Communications, Instrumentation and Radio Engineering", talked with the department's teachers and received answers to their questions about studying at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
In addition, the students were shown a software environment for designing microcircuits, examples of programs for processing biomedical signals and images were given, information about the department's partners was provided, and employment prospects for graduates in the field of electronics were outlined.

Open Day May 16, 2026

Saturday, May 16, 2026 - 22:43

Participated in the open days of the FEL. In the exhibition area, those interested had the opportunity to touch the most modern equipment and developments of the department's teachers. The full cycle of developing a program for FPGAs is somewhat beyond the format of the event, but those interested had the opportunity to run interactive programs, observe the operation of a wireless oxygen saturation meter, and also try out the bedside monitor. Guests had a good opportunity to communicate with teachers and students, learn about the "highlights" of educational programs.
During the tours of the laboratories, they had the opportunity to show the working atmosphere of a chip designer, talk about partners and employment prospects for graduates.

Career orientation event

Tuesday, May 12, 2026 - 17:34

10th grade students of Lyceum No. 214 visited the Faculty of Electronics, where they had a physics lesson in the measurement laboratory and at the same time got acquainted with other scientific spaces of the faculty. As part of our part of the program, high school students were told about modern directions of development of electronics and microelectronics, as well as about opportunities for professional growth in these industries.
The schoolchildren were explained how the global semiconductor industry works: from the design of microcircuits, the use of IP cores and EDA tools to production in high-tech factories, testing and packaging. Examples of the activities of companies engaged in the development of integrated circuits, in particular those operating in Kyiv, were given.
The students saw what microcircuit development engineers, circuit engineers and embedded systems specialists do, and also had the opportunity to observe the stages of the work of an engineer designing integrated circuits.

Open Day April 18, 2026

Saturday, April 18, 2026 - 17:00

We participated in the university open day on April 18, 2026. We had the opportunity to talk about the faculty and the features of our educational programs. We showed examples of the developments of our specialists, as well as the workflow of a IC designer.

Career orientation event

Thursday, April 2, 2026 - 17:22

Students of 8-9 grades visited the Faculty of Electronics for a physics lesson in the measurement laboratory, and also had the opportunity to visit other laboratories of the faculty. During our segment of the program, the students were shown examples of devices in the development of which the teachers of the department participated. Traditionally, the patient monitor aroused interest. Interested had a chance to try measuring the level of blood oxygen saturation and even measure the electrocardiogram in simplified leads. On the occasion, the work processes of an engineer designing integrated circuits were shown.

Career orientation event

Monday, March 30, 2026 - 21:35

Joined a career orientation event with students of the capital's lyceum No. 142. In our part of the program, we talked about the modern electronics and microelectronics industry and the opportunities for professional development in it. We explained how the global semiconductor industry works - from designing microcircuits, using IP cores and EDA tools to their production at high-tech factories, testing and packaging.
We paid special attention to different types of companies in the industry (fabless companies, integrated manufacturers and foundries), the role of specialized materials and equipment. We gave examples of the activities of integrated circuit design companies, in particular those operating in Kyiv.
The students got acquainted with the work of microcircuit development engineers, circuit engineers and embedded systems specialists. We also demonstrated applied areas of modern electronics: the Internet of Things, FPGA programmable logic and power electronics used in transport, household appliances and energy.
In our opinion, specialties in the field of electronics remain relevant: the demand for such specialists is growing, and the opportunities to start a career in Ukraine with the prospect of entering the global technology market are quite real. The highlight of the presentation was the demonstration of the work processes of a microcircuit development engineer: the appearance of a topological project makes a great impression and inspires further immersion in the profession.
