Vitaliy Sigorskiy
Vitaliy Petrovich Sigorsky - an outstanding scientist, teacher, professor of the Department of Physical and Biomedical Electronics, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Honored Professor of NTUU "KPI", a veteran of the Great Patriotic War.
Born in 1922. Graduated with honors from the Lviv Polytechnic Institute in 1949. He defended his candidate's thesis in 1952, his doctoral thesis in 1959. Sigorsky V.P. began his career as a graduate student, assistant at the Lviv Polytechnic Institute (1949-1953). In 1953-1959 he was deputy director of the Institute of Machine Control, Automation and Electrometry of the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences. More than 40 years of his life were connected with KPI, where he worked since 1964 as the head of a number of departments, professor.
Sigorsky V.P. is the founder in 1974 of the Department of Theoretical Electronics of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering. Professor Sigorsky V.P. created a scientific school in the field of theory of electronic circuits and information support of CAD. The field of his research was the theory and mathematical modeling of electronic circuits, the development of methods of computer design technologies. The main scientific results of Professor Sigorsky include the development of the theory and algorithms for the analysis of transistor circuits, the theory and synthesis of multi-valued elements and structures of discrete technology, problem adaptation as a way to increase the efficiency and intellectualization of automated design systems. He trained 30 candidates and 10 doctors of science. He has published 375 scientific papers, including 20 monographs and textbooks, including (independently or in co-authorship): "General Theory of the Four-Pole Circuit", "Methods of Analysis of Electrical Circuits with Multipole Components", "Analysis of Electronic Circuits" (translated in Czechoslovakia, Poland, Hungary), "Multivalued Elements of Discrete Technology", "Algorithms of Analysis of Electronic Circuits" (translated in the USA), "Mathematical Apparatus of an Engineer", "Modeling of Electronic Circuits". In the 70s and 80s of the last century, Sigorsky V.P. was the developer of the concept and the initiator of the introduction of general engineering training at the Faculty of Electronic Engineering, which provides a single basic level of electronic education for students of all specialties of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering for 3.5 years. Under his leadership, programs of new general engineering disciplines were created, their coordination among themselves and with general education disciplines was carried out, methodological support was created, and a number of training laboratories were established.
Professor Sigorsky V.P. was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, the medal "For Labor Valor", he was the laureate of three prizes of the Ministry of Education: for the best scientific work in 1981 and 1987 and achievements in scientific and methodological work in 1998.
