Design of microelectronic devices

The purpose of discipline is to develop a systematic approach to circuit design of electronic devices, ability to navigate in a variety of advanced design techniques, to choose suitable components and techniques to solve applied problems.

The object of study is the advanced circuit design techniques of electronic devices and modern element base electronics.

The objects of study are algorithms for designing functional units and structural design of electronic devices.

Studying the discipline students earn knowledge and skills of:

  • systematic approach to circuit design, development of functional and circuit diagrams, calculation and optimization of their parameters;
  • specifications for electronic devices according to their application purposes;
  • calculation of elements and components performance;
  • selecting suitable components of electronic devices;
  • synthesis of analog functional units of electronic devices;
  • synthesis of digital functional units of electronic devices;
  • design of analog and digital interfaces;
  • layout and electromagnetic compatibility;
  • technology features of on-ship and PCB electronic devices;
  • simulation of analog and digital components of electronic devices;
  • the most common software for analysis, design and construction of electronic devices.

Discipline is based on “Theory of electronic and electrical circuits”, “Algorithmic languages and programming”, “Analogue circuit design”, “Digital circuitry”, “Signal Processing” and others.
